• The staff at Treetops Nursery

Staff.

At Treetops Nursery, we only employ the very best staff, who are appropriately qualified and suitably trained in paediatric first aid. We have a fire officer at the setting and allocated staff in charge of special educational needs and safeguarding. A supernumerary nursery manager is also available, meaning they can offer extra help whenever it’s needed.

Specialist physical teachers also visit the nursery from time to time, encouraging children in activities including music, dance and balance bikes.

A ‘key person’ is allocated to each individual child and they set targets for children, reviewing progress and liaising with parents along the way. Parents are encouraged to view the progress files that the key person maintains for each child, so that they can keep up to date on the child’s journey.

In regard to staff-to-children ratios, we aim to have at least one member of staff to every three children aged 6 months to 2 years, at least one member of staff to every four children aged 2 to 3 and at least one member of staff for every eight children aged 3 to 5. Our aim is to exceed those minimums.

Millie’s Mark.

We are delighted and very proud to announce that we have successfully been awarded a very special award ‘Millie’s Mark’, by National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) in association with Department for Education and Millie’s Trust.

This is an exceptional achievement and a Quality Mark for nurseries where employees working directly with children are trained in paediatric first aid.

Having the Millie’s Mark award demonstrates our commitment to going above and beyond the minimum requirements for keeping children safe. It shows that all staff working directly with children hold a paediatric first aid certificate and that they are competent in how to apply this in practice. Achieving Millie’s Mark shows we have the correct procedures and documentation in place which gives all parents that greater reassurance.
